A woman’s right to choose, a very controversial issue. I wouldn’t have chosen this as a topic but for the unbelievable frustration and sadness brought about by the controversial decision to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Dr. Christine Blasey Ford said under oath that she could say with 100% certainty that Kavanaugh had assaulted her. Brett Kavanaugh denied this. The senators who voted to confirm him, chose to believe the man, not the woman.
Another reason I chose a woman’s right to choose is that I have been researching the voting record of our MN House representative, Bob Dettmer. I was surprised at how many bills he has voted “yea” on that would make it harder for a woman to choose an abortion. These include: Bill HF809-Prohibits State Funding for Abortion Services, Bill HF 812-Establishes Abortion Facility License Requirements, Bill HF 2849 – Requires Abortion Physician to Give Patients Option of Ultrasound, and similar bills going back to 2008. (Siefert Amendment)
A woman’s right to be believed, a woman’s right to choose. The American people deserved the facts of a full investigation before Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed. Women deserve the right to choose an abortion or not, based on their beliefs, religious or otherwise, and their own personal situation. We do not want to go back to the days when abortion was illegal and some of the horrific situations women faced in receiving one. We need more women in our legislature.
Vote Ann Mozey for MN House.
